If you ever want to see happy horses on a wet miserable day in January then take a visit to Tim Reed’s easterly barn at his training yard at Housesteads, 1000ft up, 15 miles north-west of Hexham, ideally placed on the English side of Hadrian’s Wall to repeal all those Scottish yards pillaging and raping the English Point to Points.
